A workshop with Ted Matson is a wonderful learning experience. Ted is easy to understand, and teaches bonsai techniques in a slow and easygoing pace. Ted uses the tried and true "twice around the block" method. Once around the table to look over the stock and make suggestions for improvement, and then a rest period. Round two of the instruction focus' on work performed after the first walk-by and on fine details for his next visit.
Ted is a master when it comes to thickening trunks or increased branch ramification. His techniques for developing taper are tips that every bonsai artist should have in their bag of tricks.
The FBS schedules Ted for as many workshops as his schedule will permit. Price for the workshops are $15.00, well worth the price of admission for the wealth of knowledge gained at these workshops. Bring your problem tree and get the expert advice needed to bring the tree to its full potential.
