The trees of Huangshan, China are famous for their
beauty. You'll notice that many of the trees growing
naturally on the mountainsides look like bonsai -- perhaps
they were the original inspiration for bonsai styling.
These pictures were taken by one of our club members when
she recently visited Huangshan. She reports --
Many Chinese paintings are of Huangshan
scenery. There are many peaks of granite and century
old pines, firs, ginkos, Chinese torreyas, Chinese
sweet gums, nanmus, camphor woods and the Magua trees,
remnants of the glacial era.
