The Incredible Potting Party
Each year we have three potting parties where we design new, redesign old, and repot trees for sale at our show. Each member is asked to contribute three new trees to the show sale to help raise money for the coming year.

The potting party has been graciously hosted by the Plantings for so many years. It has been an event where new members get some first- hand experience working with trees and receive guidance by the members of the club. It also has provided an opportunity for continuing members to refine skills on plants they many not own and build more knowledge on styling. (We all know we will take risks with plants that are not our own more often; then we go home and do it on our own trees.)

This year we would like to thank those who participated in this great social/work event in pictures and by name.

J. Ransohoff works on a Juniper

B. Murray carts the trees she will care for until the show sale.

H. Thompson works on a pine

L. McCormick styles a newly contributed Juniper

C. Fischer works to remove old soil  and clean roots for repotting.

H. Reist works on a young juniper creating a new jin to help age the tree

B. Scott and B. Morton work together to style a young juniper

S. North works to wire a new creation

S. Planting works on what will be  a new group planting.

J. Planting works on a young black pine.

Thanks to the following members:

John/Sandy Planting (3), Lonnie McCormick (3), Ricardo and Ramundo Archilla (1), Bill Scott (3), Barbara Shahinian (2), Jerry Carpenter (2), Charlene Fischer (3), Hap Thompson (2), Janet Refvem (2), Dave/Rita Curbow(3), Callie/Hal Jerman (1), Nora Morton (1), Bonnie Morton (2), Helen Reist (2), Jim Ransohoff (2), Mo Suresh (1), Nicci Prentice(1), Barbara Murray (3) and Stephanie North (3)

And if I missed any one, my apologies. Kusamura wants to thank all those who have contributed plants, pots, time, and energy to our potting parties and the thus success at raising money for the club during our upcoming show. We will have fond memories of our working together, building new friendships, learning more about our art and of course - donuts.
