President’s Message
Congratulations to all. The show is over! We have completed our hardest task of the year. We hope that you found the experience enjoyable, fun, and rewarding amidst the hard work.

A special thanks goes to Sandy Planting who took on the role of Show Chair in a time of need. Her hard work helped to create a beautiful show space. Charlene deserves a major round of applause for her doing many core tasks at the event; overseeing the food, work sheets, plant labels, and even the nominating committee for the Board. Thanks to Jerry for learning the ropes of Publicity. Thanks as well to Dave Flynn who rebuilt our beautiful Tokonoma and assisted with a labor team for many other purposes. Bill Scott led us to another super sale and tirelessly helped at the tables. Lonnie contributed great leadership and skill with props and gave a great demo, and assisted with Mel Ikeda’s demo. Callie gave a wonderful demo as our youngest yet extremely articulate member. They both deserve a great round of applause for helping our organization present a great face to the public. Thanks also to the Archila family for gathering names of possible interested persons to join or support our club.

A great thanks goes to all who volunteered their time, labor and funds to make the show a great experience for the public and a rewarding experience for each other. It takes many hands to make a good show and we had your support to make it happen. So for all of you I celebrate your contribution, give you my thanks and hope you had fun.

John Planting,
President

News
St Mark’s Hall Setup and Clean Up
We want to let you know that we must take extra care at St. Mark’s. Cleaning up carefully is very important. We paid an extra fee to the Church because after our last meeting we left dirt on pews and floor, scuffed up the floor by dragging tables, and not leaving the area broom clean. We want to be good occupants and the Board will be looking at creative ways to ensure that setup and clean up can be done is a way that does not cost the club precious funds. If you have ideas on how we can better setup and clean the space, please express those ideas to one of your Board members.

New Members and Interested Perspective Members
We extend an invitation to all those who are receiving this newsletter to come and check out our meetings and consider joining our club. We are sending a series of newsletters via USPS mail or electronically to interested people who visited our show. We welcome you all. There are many educational and fun events planned and you can help us make them complete with your continued support.

The Nominating Committee will present a slate of candidates for the Board of Directors for ’07- ‘08 at the May meeting. Board members will be elected at the meeting as well. The new Board will be installed at the June meeting and take over July 1, 2007.

Show Enders
Members who have borrowed stands, have pots, scrolls, kitchen items, or other props please bring them to the meeting for return.
