Message From The President

As my second term as Kusamura Bonsai Club President comes towards its end, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members who have worked so hard to help make Kusamura one of the best bonsai clubs. I especially would like to thank everyone for helping to make the show this year so successful. I am sorry that I did not get the word out to the newer members that the club had bought about $300 worth of "strike" plants to give away after the show stuff was packed and the rooms cleaned up. There were only a handful of members who stayed till the end and even members who know we have done this at our previous shows had left.

While it is fresh in your minds, take some time to write down your thoughts on what you would change or do differently if the club rents the Art Center for our show in 2007 and give them to me in person or by email. A couple that come to mind is have more standing signs directing visitors to the demo room. Also Stephanie North suggested having some low tables along the stage instead of flowers where we could display bonsai like saikei maybe.

Most of you know that I am seriously thinking of moving out of state and towards that end I am going to sell a lot of my bonsai and starter plants. Also some benches and a few orchids. I would like to do this in San Jose on Saturday, May 27th.

Once again, my heartfelt thanks!
