7:00p.m. Meeting
Sandy Planting
will discuss how to groom bonsai and companion
plants for the show. She will also create a
companion plant arrangement that will be
raffled.
8:00p.m. Meeting
With Sandy's
assistance each attendee will set up a "tokonoma"
display using one of his/her best bonsai and
complementary plants, scrolls, or other
items.
These displays
can then be used in the show. We have had practice
sessions like this for the past two years and they
turned out to be great fun. All who were present
helped one another choose.
For the
meeting, then, please bring:
- A bonsai that
you plan to show
- A stand to
use with it, if you have one
- Complementary
items such as companion plants, suiseki, scrolls
and other artifacts that you think would show
nicely with your bonsai
- Stands and
other items mentioned above that you are willing
to lend to others for their displays.
Be sure to mark
all of your things with your name. Two backdrops
and tables will be set up. We will take turns
perfecting our displays. This meeting will only
succeed if everyone participates so please come and
don't be shy or under value your bonsai.

Kusamura
Members Info
We will also have
access on Friday evening, April 25th, so that
members can deliver heir minimum of three donation
bonsai or high quality pots for pricing. Items may
be purchased as soon as they are priced.
Barbara
Murray
has kindly volunteered again to type identification
cards for all the trees in the show. These cards
add greatly to visitors' appreciation of the show.
Please help Barbara by delivering a complete list
of your show trees when you arrive at the show on
Saturday, April 26th. Record for each tree: (1) the
common name, (2) the botanical name if you know it,
and (3) the year that bonsai training was begun.
(Barbara will hunt up the botanical name if you
cannot supply it.) Thank you. Barbara for your
important service!
