NEXT MEETING -- June 14, 2002

7:00 p.m. Lonnie McCormick on Black Pines

Pines, especially Japanese Black Pines, are the focus of our June meeting. Our president, Lonnie McCormick, will be our teacher-demonstrator for the entire evening. During the hour from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., he will talk about how to grow, care for, and manage pines.

8:00 p.m. Workshop

Starting at 8:00 p.m., Lonnie will conduct a workshop in which all members are invited to participate. If you have a pine that you would like to work on with Lonnie's help, or just have questions about what to do to train your tree, bring it to the meeting. If you intend to work on it, bring your tools and wire and a large plastic bag or a pad of newspaper to protect your place at a table. Lonnie has made an extensive study of pines and has raised literally hundreds of them from seed, following the most recent techniques developed in Japan. Here's your chance to work with an expert who's an artist too.
