MARCH MEETING

7:00 Sandy Planting on Saikei

Sandy Planting resumes her series of programs on basic bonsai techniques. Tonight, she will show how to make a saikei or group planting where plants and stones are equally important to the design. Nobody excels Sandy in the art of placing stones, and she is often called upon by other clubs to show them how successful saikei are made. Her planting will be raffled.

8:00 p.m. Ruben Guzman on Satsuki Azaleas

The ever-popular Ruben Guzman will return, this time to deliver a talk on satsuki azaleas. He has now graduated from Takemori Gondo's satsuki azalea school in Placerville and knows all about the new ways of satsuki management. The rules are very different from those that most of us learned in the past, and March is the right month to do a lot of the work. Ruben will have several plants to put in the raffle.
